8. Seismicity:  ReSSA conducts pseudostatic analysis considering horizontal ground acceleration.  The design acceleration is taken as half the peak ground acceleration.  This is in lieu of perceived conservatism inherent in the pseudostatic approach; it follows FHWA recommendations.
